What our customers say

We stayed at Oliver’s the night before setting off cycling the rail trail. The rooms are beautifully presented and very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and made us the most delicious breakfast - dinner next door was also wonderful. Take the time to walk around and poke your head into the shops where you’ll find lots of soaps, jewellery and home decor things to take home.

Room was very spacious and looked out over the extensive front garden. Hospitality from Andy and David was exceptional- just what you expect from this style of personalised accommodation but always get. Would return in a flash.

The place is beautiful, with big rooms super well decorated and furnished. The host was really nice and helpful and the restaurant that is linked to the B&B was great. The atmosphere was quiet and the town is small but with great buildings.

We spent two nights at Olivers and it was wonderful. The place is beautiful and our room was exceptional. David and Andrea are great hosts. It could be one of the best B&Bs that we have ever stayed in.

We’ve travelled the world and stayed in lots of hotels - Oliver’s rates as one of the top places ever - it’s a very special place to stay - it’s the sense of luxury and having the run of the place. David and Andrea are superlative hosts - if you come to Clyde stay here it’s a must !

We had a great stay here before riding in the rail trail. It’s a gorgeous BnB had a great meal at the restaurant, stroll through Clyde and also an amazing breakfast. Would highly recommend. The hosts are lovely people too.

This exceptional accomodation was the pinnacle of our Otago Railtrail trip. This historic homestead offers true elegance and comfort and the breakfast was fabulous. The restaurant did not disappoint either. Can’t wait to get back there. Oh and the bed was the best I’ve ever slept in!

Absolutely beautiful place! Extremely gracious and helpful hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much for a great stay! We had a great dinner at their restaurant and wonderful cooked breakfast before we set out on the Otago Central Rail Trail. Can’t recommend Olivers too highly.

I treated my hubby to two nights accommodation at Olivers in Clyde for his 60th birthday. This is the third time we have stayed there since it's wonderful renovations. We stayed in the room with the claw foot bath in the bedroom and we loved it. The surroundings are lovely, warm and inviting, very comfortable bed, lovely ensuite with the best lighting for makeup etc. Delicious breakfast, just love the eggs! Would definitely recommend for a special treat. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed in several "lodges" across the rail trail but this was the only one worthy of the title. The hosts, facilities, and services were superb. I'd recommend it to anyone. They had thought of everything that makes your stay comfortable and ensured you felt like you walked into a home away from home with access to the kitchen and lounge as and when you wanted. No "don't do this" signs - just so easy and comfortable to stay - with hosts that were there whenever needed but not always there if you know what I mean - giving guests space is a lesson in hosting that other lodges would do well to learn - these hosts totally get it. - Oh and the breakfast is gorgeous - one of the only places we stayed serving local fruits.

A truly unique experience! We are visiting Dunedin for 2 months due to work, so we try to explore NZ during the weekends. A friend suggested that we visit Clyde and stay at Oliver’s Lodge. We are so glad we did! Everything was amazing! We got a warm greeting from the owner at arrival. She showed us around their beautiful property and building. It’s full of history, and is so well taken care of. We stayed in the smoke room and it was so beautiful! You could feel the history of the place, and they have done a great job restoring this amazing property. It’s like nothing we’d ever seen before! It was a sunny day, so we just relaxed in the garden with a drink and a book. It was so peaceful and perfect! After a good night sleep we got up for breakfast. The dining room is so nice and cozy, and you get to chat a bit with the other visitors as well. The two owners actually make everyone breakfast, and that includes two eggs made with ham, vegetables and there is also bread you can toast and different spreads. You also get a full pot of coffee, we were in heaven! It’s hard to describe the warm and relaxing feel of this place, words aren’t enough. It’s one of those experiences you will remember forever. We will definitely be going back at some point, but this time for a few extra nights. Both I and my husband agree this was one of our highlight during our stay here in NZ!

Perfect boutique hotel in quirky historic Clyde Very nice little boutique hotel in Clyde, Central Otago. We used it as the starting and end point for our bike tour on the Central Otage Rail Trail, so spend two nights here. Rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms. Decoration of the hotel is amazing. Old maps on the walls, nicely decorating breakfast room. Breakfast is very good with lots of options and nice fresh fruit in the right season. Do go out for dinner at the restaurant that is part of Olivers. This is fine dining of very high quality with nice wines.
