We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us through level 3 and into level 2! It hasn’t

been easy implementing all the new procedures and we are grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding!

With the re-opening of the Restaurant and Cafe, we have implemented the '3 S rules' to make sure everyone is still

safe while enjoying being out and about again! Head Chef, James Waite, has designed and launched our delicious

new Winter Menus for the Cafe and Restaurant! We look forward to seeing you.

Winter Hours: (15th May to late September)

   Dinner: Thursday to Saturday from 6.00pm (closed Sunday to Wednesday)

   Lunch: Closed, but the lunch menu at the Merchant of Clyde cafe will continue

to be available everyday. Please see the lunch menu attached.

Winter Hours: (21st May to late September)

Thursday & Friday from 4.00pm

Saturday from 12 noon

The restoration of Olivers Restaurant and the opening of the café, bar and brewery within the historic walls of one of Otago’s most notable buildings was completed in 2015.

The iconic landmark, originally named The Victoria Store, was built of local schist stone and provided provisions to the goldminers that came to Central to seek their fortune. The complex now includes Olivers Restaurant, a café-bakery-delicatessen called the Merchant of Clyde, and the Victoria Store Brewery.

The Victoria Store Brewery, which is nestled between Olivers Restaurant and the bar, is producing a range of craft beers in the specially designed and custom-built brewery.

During the day, sample our beers and bakery produce under Otago’s big open skies and in the evening, dine in front of the fire within the restaurant’s ancient stone walls, under the maps in the Merchant Room, or outside under the stars in summer.
